Charlene is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 25 years of Clinical experience. She earned her Masters degree in Counseling from Louisiana Tech University in 1996. Since then, she has maintained a private practice and provided counseling services in a wide array of counseling venues including Senior Care hospitals, domestic abuse programs, adolescent treatment facilities, and child abuse centers. Charlene has a heart and passion to help people who are struggling with difficult life issues. She specializes in treating the after effects of trauma including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, anger, and relationship issues. She is also skilled in helping clients better cope with grief and loss, divorce, work and life stress, marital and parenting issues, aging, and low self esteem. She is trained in EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Charlene has an eclectic approach using these along with a variety of other counseling models to help clients reach their counseling goals. She is a Christian and offers clients the opportunity to integrate Christian principles into the counseling process. Charlene believes strongly that people can heal from hurt, change unhealthy and destructive patterns of behavior and greatly improve the quality of their lives and relationships. Charlene is mother to two adult children, four grandchildren and three grand-dogs. She enjoys her church, hanging out with family and friends, cooking and grandchildren!
